| August 19, 2008 For Immediate Release HAVASUPAI TRIBE SEEKS FLOOD DISASTER RELIEF The Havasupai Tribe of Arizona seeks aid for the flooding emergency on its Reservation located in the Grand Canyon. The flooding began Sunday when a dam breached near the Grand Canyon destroying homes, and forcing members to evacuate by helicopter. Many tribal members have been relocated to a Red Cross shelter in a gymnasium at Peach Springs, about 60 miles southwest of Supai village.
